On Saturday December 6, Kitiera will be in Vegas to teach a "Modrom" choreography!
Kit is an amazing dancer and inspiring instructor. I am so excited that she is coming to Vegas.
The class will be challenging and assumes a basic understanding of bellydance movements (Suhaila Salimpour Format, specifically). I've got most of my regular students signed up already so I'm opening enrollment to other dancers who might be interested.

About Kitiera:
Kitiera grew up belly dancing with her mother around the bonfires of the SCA (Society for Creative Anachronism). She began formal training in Middle Eastern Dance in 1995, at the age of 15.
Kitiera's earliest training was with Phyllidia(Lexington, KY) from 1995-2000. Kitiera credits Phyllidia for her love of fusion and dance to alternative music, for which Kit has won many awards and acclaim. She also strives to imitate Phyllidia’s selfless mentorship and thoughtful guidance as she coaches her own students.
In 2000, Kitiera married and moved to SC, where she spent several years on the competitive circuits, and won numerous awards. During this time she also began teaching.
In 2003, Kitiera moved Seattle, WA. She founded her own Kitiera World Dance Company and began working professionally as a dance teacher and choreographer. She also began work on the concepts that would later be known as "Modrom Belly Dance," her own unique stylization of Middle Eastern Dance.
In 2006, Kitiera moved to the San Francisco Bay in order to study intensively at the Suhaila Salimpour School of Dance, with the legendary dance masters Suhaila and Jamila Salimpour. She is currently certified level 2 in Suhaila's format, a member of Suhaila's Repertoire Ensemble, and an instructor at The Salimpour Studio in Albany, CA.
In addition to training with Suhaila, Kitiera is continuing her work and development on Modrom Belly Dance, touring and promoting her unique style worldwide.
Las Vegas Master Class Topic:
Modrom Belly Dance Choreography: Iman (7/8, 8/4, 4/4) (3 hours)
Modrom is short for Modern/Romani. The name reflects is true nature: A "gypsy" dance. The name also reflects the emotionally charged aspect of the form, where musicality and theatrical delivery are as important as any other component of technique. Modrom fuses a blend of Egyptian Raqs Sharqi, Romani, and modern Jazz dance movements, as it stays grounded in the Suhaila Salimpour Technique.
Iman is the original choreography that inspired the Modrom stylization. It's a dramatic choreography that changes time signatures. Learn to dance to 7/8 rhythm! Please bring a veil.
