Bellydance isn’t all about the belly! Come learn in-depth techniques for the arms as well as exciting new moves taken from India, Java, and Bali taught exclusively by Danielle. We will cover Cabaret and Tribal port de bras, six types of snake arms, and discuss how to use the arms during traditional Cabaret drum solos and Tribal Fusion pop n’ locking to avoid the dreaded “chicken wing” syndrome. Extremely detailed handouts will be included so you won’t forget what you’ve learned; and affordable practice DVDs based on the workshop techniques will be available for purchase as well. This challenging class is for all bellydancers, regardless of style or level of experience with these arm stylizations.


About the instructor: Danielle lives in Chicago and has been dancing since 1995. She offers classes in cabaret and tribal bellydance, Argentine tango, Balinese ritual dance, bharatanatyam, Javanese court dance, and Wu’shu Tai Chi single and double fan. She has also studied international style ballroom, Yang style Tai Chi, classical Cambodian dance and is currently a student of flamenco, pilates, and ballet. She holds a Masters degree in experimental psychology; and her academic research and training in cognitive psychology and critical thinking inform her teaching method, her approach to dance, and her commitment to becoming a thorough and thoughtful instructor.
